My Cat Story

I woke up one morning because of the loud noise that I heard from outside. It was the overwhelming sound of a kitten. I got up from my bed and went outside to check on what happened. I found a little kitty that was crying.

“Meow meow meow” the loud voice that I heard from the kitty.I was thinking that maybe the mother just left to find food and the kitty was just crying because it cannot see the mother.I picked up the kitty and put it in the outside of my neighbor because I was thinking that maybe was just there.I returned home to go back to sleep and I heard the loud noise again from the kitty.I went outside and saw the cat came back outside of our gate.It was a heartwarming when I realized that the cat chose me. I adopted the cat, and I convinced my parents that I wanted the cat and would love to take good care of it. I went to the vet the next day and I named the kitty “Peggylou.”.

I treated Peggylou as my baby. I fed her and took her bath and we watched a movie together. She had a special bed in my bedroom, and we slept together. I was so in love with Peggy Lou. Fast forward: one year later, I had to go abroad for a better future because I could not find a good-paying job in my country.

This was my last picture with Peggylou before i left to go to the airport

That’s why I decided to go abroad to still support the medication of my mother who was suffering from kidney failure at that time.  It’s been hard for me up until this time to express my feelings every time I look at the picture with Peggylou. Almost 4 years later after I left my country, one afternoon I had a lunch break at work was I received a call from my parents and they told me that Peggylou passed away.I was deeply in hurt and the tears continuously fell down and words don’t come out easy to my mouth.Almost 4 years that I was looking forward to see Peggylou again but my mind was doomed to realized that I cannot see her again.

Remembering Peggylou was full of good memories and those memories I will always cherish.Peggylou was my truly best friend and she will always be in my heart.

To conclude, my experience with cats has been an enormous source of joy, comfort, and profound learning. The sense of responsibility and care that I felt when I found my first kitten has amplified over the years, shaping my identity as a cat lover and caregiver. I believe that every cat I’ve had the privilege to care for left an indelible mark on my heart and life. The journey, filled with purrs, cuddles, and sometimes scratches, has been incredibly rewarding, shaping a lifelong bond with these magnificent creatures.
